Credit Recovery- This should be the student's first step in making up credit!! If the student was within 10% of passing the class, he/she may ask their teacher if they can do credit recovery through them. If so, they will create an individual plan for the student that includes the necessary work to earn credit for the failed class.
Wasatch Night School- Night school can be used if credit recovery through your teacher is not available. Night School is a month-to-month program. The cost is $40/month, and is held on WEDNESDAYS and THURSDAYS from 2:30-4:30pm at North Campus. Students must attend at least one time each week (1x/week) during the session, which runs the first 3 weeks of the month. Night school uses an online curriculum for credit recovery. To ensure adequate progress and efficiency, students are expected to work on coursework at Night School and at home. You will need to fill out the registration form and pay your fee at North Campus.
Wasatch Summer School- Summer School runs from June to July. The registration form will be available in May and courses must be approved by a counselor before the form is submitted. Wasatch eSchool- Online courses for credit recovery are available as part of a student's regular Wasatch High Schedule. Please visit with your counselor to see if this option is appropriate for your situation and the credit you need to make up.
Wasatch North Campus- North Campus should be used as the last option. North Campus is designed for students who have failed numerous classes and the options above will not allow them enough time to complete the necessary credit needed to graduate. A consultation with the student's counselor is needed to determine if North Campus is the right solution for him/her. If it is, North Campus is then scheduled into the student's Wasatch High schedule. A maximum of 4 periods can be scheduled for North Campus. The remaining 4 periods will be regular Wasatch High courses.
